Abarth, Fiat's performance division, has recently announced the unveiling of the 600e electric crossover, marking it as the brand's most potent vehicle to date.

The 600e will be especially noteworthy for its exclusivity, with only 1949 units being produced, so you will need to be quick when orders open.

Rooted in the Fiat 600e's design, this vehicle emerges as the second electric vehicle (EV) from Abarth, following the Abarth 500e hot hatch, and it stands out as the first SUV in Europe to feature the iconic scorpion emblem.

The Abarth 600e Scorpionissima channels a formidable 237bhp to the front wheels, making it a standout in terms of power within the Stellantis e-CMP2 platform family, which includes vehicles such as the Jeep Avenger, Peugeot e-2008, and Citroën e-C4, none of which currently offer a performance-specific variant.

The performance-focused 600e is expected to utilize the same 51kWh (usable) battery pack found in the standard Fiat 600e. However, given the increased power output, the range is likely to decrease from the original 252 miles to something closer to 200 miles.

While Abarth has not yet disclosed official performance metrics, expectations are set for this model to significantly outperform its Fiat counterpart, aiming for a 0-62mph acceleration time around 6.0 seconds. The Cupra Born takes 6.6 seconds for reference.

The 600e has undergone a radical transformation to underscore its performance capabilities, featuring an exaggerated rear wing, oversized sports wheels, and a unique front bumper design, all of which collectively signal this model as a more aggressive iteration of the Italian electric vehicle.

In anticipation of its full debut in the near future, Abarth has revealed some key features, including the integration of a limited-slip differential and performance-oriented tyres.

These enhancements, developed in collaboration with Formula E's tyre supplier Hankook, aim to maximize traction and ensure superior handling across various conditions. Additionally, these tyres are designed to offer an optimal balance between dynamic performance and efficiency, potentially improving the vehicle's range.

Details about the official launch of this exciting new model from Abarth are still forthcoming, with the brand encouraging enthusiasts to "stay tuned" for further information.
