The latest entrant from Hyundai, the Ioniq 5 N, hits the UK market with a price tag of £65,000. This high-performance electric hatchback stands as a testament to Hyundai's commitment to electrifying its performance wing.

The Ioniq 5 N stands on the same E-GMP platform as its less aggressive sibling. Yet, upgrades like an 84 kWh battery, an exclusive all-wheel-drive powertrain, and an array of tech innovations ensure a seamless bond between driver and machine.

Packing a punch with 600bhp and 545lb ft of torque, it overtakes the Kia EV6 GT, its platform-sharing counterpart. Engage the 'N Grin Boost' mode, and the car zooms with a staggering 641bhp and 567lb ft of torque, racing from 0-62mph in a mere 3.4 seconds, leaving even the BMW M3 in its wake.

With its exterior, Hyundai has seamlessly infused the Ioniq 5 N with the very essence of a race car. This aggressive transformation marks the inaugural electric Hyundai model that has been thoroughly redesigned by the house's N division, the same minds that brought to life the i20 N and i30 N.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5N is believed to have the same dimensions as the Ioniq 5, with a height of 1605mm, width of 1890mm and length of 4635mm. For the petrol versions, it has a boot capacity of 588 litres.

Attention to detail is evident in its brakes, which have been re-engineered to endure rigorous track conditions. The car's regenerative system synchronises harmoniously with its hydraulic brakes, managing a significant chunk of the braking force, especially on tracks.

Hyundai N hasn't neglected the sensory pleasure derived from driving, blending the sounds of a traditional petrol hot hatch into this electric marvel. An artificial engine sound, which can emulate up to 8000rpm and a simulated gearbox, only enhance its genuine feel, but for purists, both can be turned off independently.

Stepping inside, occupants are greeted with ambient lighting that sets the mood, juxtaposed with the rich textures of Alcantara and leather. The car proudly flaunts its N heritage with an N-branded steering wheel. Tech enthusiasts aren't left wanting either – a 12.3-inch digital cluster and central touchscreen, head-up display, wireless phone charger, along with compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, envelop drivers in modern luxury.

The interiors further boast of new bucket seats, an exclusive steering wheel, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment display, both of which sport the N insignia with performance-centric themes.

Eager customers can place their orders now. The car, available in a singular spec at launch, comes equipped with automatic LED lights, 21-inch alloy wheels, and a heat pump to boost its efficiency.
