The revised 2024 Audi Q4 E-tron, alongside its sportier counterpart, the Q4 Sportback E-tron, boasts an array of improvements that have enthusiasts buzzing. Mirroring updates seen in the Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5, the vehicles now feature a rear-mounted synchronous electric motor, another marvel from the Volkswagen Group workshop.

The innovation doesn't end there. The 400V motor presents a redesigned stator cooling system and a revamped gearset for its single-speed transmission. The result? An uptick in power and efficiency for Audi's electric SUV.

The Q4 45 E-tron, a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive iteration, packs a punch with 281bhp—outdoing its predecessor, the Q4 40 E-tron, by 80bhp. Its sibling, the dual-motor, four-wheel-drive Q4 55 E-tron Quattro, doesn't lag, registering at a combined 335bhp, 40bhp above the previous Q4 50 E-tron Quattro.

Audi's performance metrics are equally compelling: a 0-62mph sprint in 6.7 seconds for the Q4 45 E-tron and a brisk 5.4 seconds for the Q4 55 E-tron Quattro. And while top speeds are capped at 112mph, range enhancements are promising. The Q4 Sportback 45 E-tron's 77kWh battery now promises 349 miles per WLTP test cycle, up by 17 miles.

Charging dynamics have also been refined. While the rear-driven model maintains a 135kW charge cap, its four-wheel-drive counterpart sees an impressive 175kW potential. To sweeten the deal, Audi introduces a pre-conditioning feature, ensuring even quicker charging sessions.

The fate of the base Q4 35 E-tron remains shrouded in mystery. However, Audi did reveal tweaks to the Q4 E-tron's suspension, promising better damping, steering, and load control.

The price tag remains under wraps, set to be revealed closer to its UK debut next year. Yet, insiders at Audi's German headquarters hint at a modest hike, reflecting the superior tech and equipment upgrades.
